Hailey Bieber Channels Princess Diana for Vogue Paris and I'm Still Obsessed

By now, you must be thinking: “This is old news”, but wait! Don’t count me out just yet because I’m about to tell you why I’m still drooling over Hailey Bieber’s Princess Diana shoot for Vogue Paris.
I’ve been obsessed with Princess Diana for years. Her timeless beauty, influence, and of course, her style. That ‘f*ck you, Charles’ black mini dress was ICONIC (to say the least). I mean, she just encapsulates the fashion of her time. From biker shorts and oversized sweatshirts to bright suits to her breathtaking gowns, she knew how to keep the world of fashion watching.
Not only the fashion industry were watching; most of her looks left the public shocked and craving more and more. Years after her death, the public is still enamoured of her. It's no surprise that everyone went crazy when Hailey Bieber's shoot for Vogue Paris came out, they had nailed her striking looks to the T.
Nevertheless, I'm not here to gush about Diana (if you want a separate blog post breaking down some of my favourite outfits of hers, let me know!), I'm here to talk about this Hailey Bieber spread for Vogue Paris.
On August 28th, 2019, I was casually flicking through Instagram stories and I kept seeing a photo of Princess Diana in a pair of biker shorts and an oversized sweatshirt. After some minor stalking and zooming (we all do it... no shame), I realized, in fact, that it wasn't the iconic 'People's Princess', it was Hailey Bieber.
The editorial, photographed by Gregory Harris and styled by Virginie Benarroch, mimics the many paparazzi shots of Diana sporting athleisure. Bieber wears crisp white tennis shoes with biker shorts and crewnecks, and puts on an "unfazed" look as if she's just minding her own business.
Although she doesn't quite capture Lady Di's essence, the wardrobe leaves us remembering that although she's gone, she lives on through fashion.
